Outline of sizing methodology and summary of results of hover control comparative analysis performed on typical V/STOL fighter bomber using lift-plus-lift-cruise propulsion concept; effects of hover control concept, bleed system, and type of bleed control on aircraft size and control effectiveness for 20 control arrangements were evaluated, and results for best of these are compared; most efficient system is one yielding minimum size vehicle meeting both mission and hover control power requirements.
