Outline of program research objectives and achievements are described; augmentor-wing concept is one of power plant-wing integration to give augmentation of wing lift and jet thrust; main component systems involved are power plant and high lift flap system; physical aspects of these systems are described as applied to twin-engined transport aircraft; results of program to date have demonstrated that concept satisfies all basic requirements for acceptable jet-STOL aircraft and that work should be continued and concept further evaluated by means of flight program.
