Reduced edition of Conqueror Liberty Replacement has been produced by E.Urwin, consulting naval architect of London, to meet continuing need for vessels of about 5000 tons dw; hull is of all-welded construction using steel which has been shot-blasted and primed for shell and upper deck; "all-aft" arrangement is adopted for flush-decked hull; length oa 335 ft, breadth molded 48 ft 5 in., depth molded 30 ft, draft 21 ft 5 in., block coefficient 0.767; main propulsion is by 8-cyl Ruston and Hornsby diesel engine with maximum continuous rating of 4000 bhp at 500 rpm: plan.
