Report of investigation of 57 vessels built in Japan, and owned by 17 different shipping companies; 28 of ships are tankers, 22 cargo liners, and 7 ore carriers; 17 are steam turbine and 40 are diesel propelled; 23 of ships were less than 4 yr old (in 1965), 19 were between 4 and 8 yr old, and 15 were older than 8 yr.
