Velocity requirements, trip times, and initial mass in Earth-orbit requirements associated with round-trip Mars stopover missions that employ Venus swingby technique are summarized; results are compared with characteristics of standard opposition-class missions for every launch opportunity between 1980 and 1999; paper summarizes salient features of each mission and contains information useful in further studies relating to missions; it is also shown that single system design can be used efficiently to meet requirements for several mission opportunities.
