Application studies of adaptive tracking filter to launch vehicle bending-mode stabilization, and preliminary results; two approaches are described -- use of tracking filter as tracking notch to attenuate first two (lowest frequency) bending modes, and use of tracking filter to shift phase of first two bending modes so as to feed them back through flight control system in stabilizing manner; simulation results are presented for Saturn I-B launch vehicle.
