Unit for collection, sampling, drying, and storage of fecal wastes in life-support simulator or aerospace flights; unit collects feces, which are subsequently air dried at ambient temperature and pressure, and stored; unit is designed for use in weightless environment yet has convenience of operation of ordinary terrestrial toilet; other design features include measures to prevent fecal contamination or odors from entering space cabin, low power requirements, and minimum loss of cabin air overboard; weight of unit is about 50 lb.
