Report of study made by United States Salvage Assn, Inc on damages surveyed in recent 1-yr period on 150 tankers of various deadweight tonnages; study embraces 75 United States-flag tankers and 75 foreign-flag tankers; damages are grouped in seven main categories according to alleged cause of damage, and are also grouped according to various categories of deadweight tonnage, ranging from World War II T2-type tankers to newer tankers over 100, 000 dwt; seven main categories are further subdivided into other more detailed categories; largest single damage sustained and repair time (in working days), if done alone, is shown for main categories; repair costs, etc, are taken into account; eight tables of data are included.
