Hitachi's Chikko yard has completed 500-ton dw Koryu Maru for Japan Refrigerated Cargo Carriers, Tokyo; new vessel eliminates method whereby molten sulfur was solidified for transport by sea and liquefied again after discharge; insulation for cargo tanks, trunk hatch tops, cargo lines, etc, is noted; length oa 150 ft 11 in., breadth molded 28 ft 3 in., depth molded 14 ft 3 in., cargo tank capacity 10,595 cu ft; main propulsion is by single diesel engine with maximum continuous rating of 350 hp at 350 rpm.
