Empirical calculations to determine influence of route factors on travel costs; route factors were calculated for different types of trips between towns, along specified routes and within certain towns; results show that route factors for journeys in towns are greater than those for journeys between towns; average value obtained for route factors in towns, 1.26, is close to theoretical value of 1.27 for square grid systems.
