Method for estimating auto commuting costs considering economic variables to be used in computing costs; method of analysis which in addition to operating speed, time value and accident potential, includes point of trip origin as factor; method which reflects trip origin produces total and out-of-pocket cost per car-mile and per passenger-mile as well as trip cost for commuting by auto; it is suggested that two out-of-pocket costs be developed, one for five heavily populated counties at center of area and other for surrounding counties.
