Three common stud welding methods in use today (electric arc, capacitor-discharge, and drawn-arc capacitor-discharge) are described and four basic elements of stud welding system illustrated; typical weld stud types and applications in shipbuilding, railroad, construction (bridge and building), general industrial equipment, automotive, truck and trailer, boilers and miscellaneous are listed.
