Used for many years by experienced aircraft engineers, static stability coefficient "k" discovered by W. S. DIEHL (USN) is held in high regard by aeronautical designers; practically every modern aircraft has been created with some consideration of Diehl rule, and since it is so basic, and used so universally, author suggests that engineers just coming into industry give it special attention and intensive study in order to become more fully familiar with its design possibilities.
