Alternative fuels employed in Britain discussed as follows: producer gas generated (in producers mounted on vehicle or trailer) from either mineral or vegetable fuels, gas compressed in cylinders, coal or town gas carried at town mains pressure in fabric bag, and creosote oil produced from coal tar.
