Steam railway motive power is doing more work due to requirements of war effort; there must be less time out for repair, engines are being dispatched with much less lay-over time than formerly; as result, repair work and servicing must be concentrated into time available; this can be assured only by effective lubrication, application of lubricants specifically prepared for railway service and use of proper methods, tools and equipment in engine house.
