Beginning with steamer Calvert in 1939, Sound Steamship Lines has steadily Dieselized its fleet of passenger and freight boats; in 1941, it was Carisco's turn to come in for complete conversion and now Pemaquid is soon to appear as modern motor ship; while not of same size, all three ships have had same size of engine installed with result that their speeds differ.
