Two almost identical trains, Panama Limited, completed by Illinois Central Railroad, consist of 22 semi-light weight streamlined cars, two 4000-hp Diesel electric locomotives to give pair of trains up to 11 cars each, using all reserve equipment; cars built of Cor-Ten steel, electrically welded, with 4-wheel, roller bearing trucks high speed electro-pneumatic air brakes, and propane gas engine driving ice machine for air conditioning; illustrations given.
