Dynamic and aeroelastic problems encountered during ascent, orbit, re-entry and terminal phases of flight by maneuvering, lifting re-entry body are examined; similarities exist in buffet, aeroelastic and forced response problems for re-entry body; new facets of problems, involving thermal and hypersonic flow effects arising from flight profile and vehicle configuration, are assessed; recommendations made.
