Two groups of 50 car drivers were given picture-test, Shipley Abstraction test and Maudsley Personality Inventory; subjects also drove around 12-mi route under normal traffic conditions; one group of subjects consisted of drivers who had been convicted of Careless Driving; other group consisted of drivers selected at random; tentative classification of drivers into safe, injudicious, dissociated active and dissociated passive subgroups was set up.
