Restraint systems are effective means of reducing injuries during automotive collision; to minimize chance of restraint systems causing injury and to aid their effectivenss, they must be worn properly; research into effectivess and proper use of various types of restraint systems for adults and children has been carried out by General Motors Corp and tests were conducted, simulated and full-scale, to explore added level of protection that can be afforded when occupants of passenger car can anticipate impact; substantial reduction of accidental injuries can be achieved if public apply conclusions of study.
