Review of six ground simulation techniques employed in aerodynamic testing of automobile models; development of wind tunnel moving belt ground plane facility at NASA Langley Research Center provided opportunity to investigate 3/8 scale automobile model over moving belt ground plane in joint program by NASA, U S Bureau of Public Roads, and Ford Motor Co; results of these tests over moving belt, tests of same model over fixed ground plane, and tests of actual vehicle are described and results compared.
