Although need for reinforced plastics boat repair is generally confined to major ruptures and fractures sustained by severe impact, 90% of dealers do not have facilities or trained personnel to handle such repairs, and boat owners have been forced to ship damaged boats back to factories, at great expense and loss of time; to correct this, one company has initiated nation's first fiber glass boat repair school for dealers and service representatives, three-day course in structural and cosmetic repair; graduates are also able to repair automobiles and other fiber glass structures.
