Design of Oroville embankment dam, embankment materials, and construction and earthmoving equipment used to strip dam area and move embankment materials; railroad was constructed to haul from borrow pits to main damsite; railroad hauls materials to reclaim tunnel at site, conveyor belt carries material to truck loading hopper from where trucks transport material to final placement in embankment; exclusive of truck drivers, entire operation is handled by 18 men; project is said to be one of world's most automated construction jobs.
