Design, development and test work of 149-cu in./cyl engine Series with three basic models, 8V-149, 12V-149 and 16V-149; engines provide power coverage from 500 to 1325 hp for any power usage including fan-to-flywheel models, engine-generator sets, marine models, standby power sets, etc, together with full line of engine driven accessories; engines incorporate unique block construction with encased pot heads, overhead camshafts and blowers; "pot type" cylinder head fits into bored-out area of block at each cylinder; it offers significant advance in service ability, mechanical and thermal characteristics.
