Design changes, type of lubricating oil and additional equipment for treatment of heavy fuel and lubricating oil, that are necessary to obtain most favorable engine operation; it is noted that advantages of using heavy fuel in four-stroke trunk-piston engines are reduced fuel costs and simple storage, if auxiliary engines can be operated on same fuel as main engine; excellent operational results have been obtained with engines already supplied.
