Method of analyzing mass accident information for effective use by large highway authority; method is given for locating accidents on road, coding them by type and including, as part of input data on punched cards, additional information relating to accident itself and to road conditions; traffic volume information is used, both for specified lengths of road and also selected junctions, to enable accident rates to be calculated; computer output includes graph showing numbers and types of accidents occurring on each one-tenth of mile of road during chosen period, schedule of accident rates for whole road, and accident rates for selected junctions on road.
