Craft of 20 tons displacement was jointly designed and constructed by Atlantic Hydrofoil Inc and Teledyne Inc, and is in service between Wood's Hole to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Island; length oa 62 ft, beam (hull) 12 ft (over foils) 28 ft, draft hullborne 7 ft 6 in.; wood hull is sheathed with glass fiber covering and is lifted 2 ft above surface of water when foilborne; wholly self-controlled submerged foils are used; main propulsion is by Solar Saturn gas turbine with nominal continuous rating of 1100 shp at 22,300 rpm which is reduced by gearbox to 6000 rpm and finally by V-drive to 2000 rpm.
