Development of Grumman Dolphin class 75 ft hydrofoil Corsario Negro, undergoing sea trials in Baltic Sea was built at Blohm and Voss Shipyards in Hamburg, West Germany; hydrofoil is aluminum hulled designed specifically for commercial operator; foilborne power is derived from Rolls-Royce Tyne marine type gas turbine engine with total installed rating of 3600 hp for continuous operation; displacement propulsion system is capable of operating completely independent of foilborne propulsion system; two Detroit Diesel 6V-53N units are rated at 216 maximum bhp at 2800 rpm.
