Design details of transmission and final drive which allowed attainment of overall design goals for White Mobilift standup fork lift truck; series is produced in two capacity ranges, MS 20 to 2000 lb at 15 in. load center, 1500 lb at 24 in., and MS 2500 lb at 15 in., 2000 lb at 24 in.; power train configuration utilizes transverse engine mounting, allowing engine crankshaft, primary transmission shaft and drive axles to be parallel; engine is directly connected to transmission with spring dampened drive plate; output is 30 hp at 3000 rpm with peak torque of 66 lb-ft at 1700 rpm when operated on regular grade gasoline.
