Various methods, machinery and equipment capacities are discussed based on procurement, harvesting, and land ownership patterns existing in Southeast; specifically, Nicholson Utilizer Series, Port City Steel Co portable chip mill, and fixed or permanent type chip mill; transportation methods for wood chips, both by rail and by truck, are compared; capital investment for transportation from shipper's standpoint.
