Global weather forecasting with aid of globe-circling weather balloons and their simple, inexpensive tracking and telemetry equipment; report of test flights which are part of project called Ghost for Global Horizontal Sounding Technique; it is plan, still years from completion, to have satellites gather atmospheric data from thousands of balloon-borne telemetry systems; satellites would relay data to ground stations and computer containing mathematical model of world's atmosphere would prepare long-range forecasts; use of thin-film components and light-weight equipment to reduce hazards to aircraft.
