Keys to mission capability for manned lunar exploration are delivery of cargo payloads and lunar surface mission crews; two general mission modes for cargo delivery are investigated; one is based on Apollo hardware; other mode incorporates use of direct flight landing vehicle, launched to Moon by Saturn V, capable of delivering about 12,500 kg cargo.
