Application of computers to bus route analyses, compilation of vehicle crew schedules, wages and controlling stores is shown by example of Wallasey Corp where municipal bus routes are extensively recast in accordance with computer analysis of survey of travel habits and requirements; computer-designed route system makes it possible that size of bus fleet can be reduced by 21%, from 81 to 64 vehicles, maximum number of buses in use at any one time can be reduced by 20%, from 66 to 53, and total mileage operated is to be cut by about 5%; financial effect of savings will be to reduce present costs by estimated \pounds\ 36,500/yr or roughly 8%; total revenue is not expected to be materially affected.
