New 25,700 ton gross liner, third Kungsholm, was built for Svenska Amerika Linien A/B by John Brown and Co (Clydebank) Ltd; ship will operate as single-class cruise ship from New York, carrying 450 passengers, and on North Atlantic service between Gothenburg and New York, carrying 750 passengers in two classes; length oa 660 ft, breadth molded 87 ft, depth molded to strength (upper) deck 58 ft 10 1/2 in., design service draft 26 ft 6 in.; there are 10 decks; twin 9-cyl Gotaverken diesel engines develop total of 25,200 bhp at 120 rpm.
