Details of 18 YO tankers being built by George Lawley and Son Corp, Boston; 11 are designed for carrying either gasoline or fuel oil, four are for fuel oil only, and three are equipped to carry water as cargo; length 174 ft; width 32 ft; depth 15 ft; draft fully loaded 11 ft 10 in.; all are single-screw propulsion, with 500 hp Diesel in each; 5 are provided with direct connected Fairbanks-Morse Diesels, 5 with Union Diesel, while remaining 8 are driven by General Motors combined Diesel and gear units.
