Construction of railroad line and bridges from Puerto Salgar to Santa Marta, Colombia described; line will provide uninterrupted rail haul of 585 mi from port of Santa Marta to Bogota; route will utilize 59 mi of existing railroad running inland from port, as well as 125 mi of present line between Puerto Salgar and Bogota; most difficult problems to overcome in creating roadbed have been in areas of several swamps.
