Increased reliability of aviation and missile electronics depends on control of elastic body resonances that amplify transmitted vibration; properties of simple lumped parameter relaxation system are used to evaluate fundamental mode characteristics of given relaxation damped structure design; results of dynamic response tests indicate that structures using visco-elastic damping materials appear promising.
