New Rolls-Royce high altitude test plant at Derby capable of continuous testing of turbojet and turboprop engines under conditions up to 70, 000 ft and up to Mach 2.5; essentials of plant are two sets of compressors, one to deliver air at required conditions and other to impose simulated altitude conditions on exhaust.
