Calculation of undercarriage landing reactions and dynamic stresses; merging of two calculations under certain circumstances proposed; examination of simple case shows that in some cases reaction forces are appreciably reduced by adoption of combined approach; criterion derived could be used in early stages of undercarriage design to predict effect of aircraft flexibility.
