Progress report on possibilities for hydrocarbon reduction by proper maintenance, which represents portion of Chrysler's contribution to Automobile Mfrs Assn program on vehicle combustion products; it is found that 1956 Field Survey data show hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions much higher than those from periodically maintained Engineering Service Fleet; reduction of such emissions of order of 60% appear to be possible by regular maintenance.
