Monorail transit system, which would solve metropolitan area traffic problems by utilizing freeways and existing rights of way, uses 1000 lb high speed inertial flywheel set in motion by power source to provide current for traction motors; flywheel picks up new energy from powered rail sections along route without stopping; while train is in motion, flywheel also acts as gyro-stabilization unit; system is expected to cost between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000 per mi.
