To analyze economic effects of freeway on community in southern California where two former state highways were bypassed, population, commercial and industrial growth, retail business, and transportation facilities were investigated using "one year before and one year after" technique; results indicate that every class of business analyzed in "after" freeway period recorded significant sales gains.
