Page, designated BDL (Beach Discharge Lighter) 1-X, has been completed by Nat Steel and Shipbldg Corp for Army Transportation Corps; it is intended to be linked stern to stern with USNS Comet; length oa 338 ft, beam molded 65 ft; cruising range 4800 mi; there is open deck for vehicular stowage and one partial deck for messing and berthing accommodations; power is from two 1200-hp Fairbanks-Morse 6-cyl diesels.
