Hunting H.126 jet flap aircraft has made its maiden flight at Royal Aircraft Establishment; single seat, high wing, all metal aircraft is powered by single Bristol Siddeley Orpheus turbojet; only part of engine efflux issues from conventional jet nozzles on either side of fuselage, most of it being ducted into wings and ejected as thin sheet from trailing edge and over full span flaps; when flaps are lowered jet stream is deflected and in forming gaseous extension to flaps, increases lift of wing.
