Study made to determine feasibility of performing maintenance inspections on Army aircraft by use of electrical principles; experimental automatic electrical maintenance and diagnostic system was installed and tested in HU-1 test bed helicopter; sensing devices discussed are for vibration, temperature, pressure, liquid levels, interlocks, chip detectors, and engine speed; it is concluded that automation of aircraft inspection is feasible, however, much work needs to be accomplished.
