Problem of diffusion from hypersonic velocities is of importance in design of hypersonic air-breathing propulsion systems, since way in which diffusion is accomplished has important effect in determining overall performance of system; criteria of performance of hypersonic air intakes are defined as consisting of efficiency and capability; required geometry variation to maintain shock on lip condition for 2 intakes is shown.
