Potential attraction of multi-engined helicopters for passenger service, perhaps to be followed by other and faster VTOL aircraft, is in their ability to operate from small sites; design of platform, and tests carried out by Bldg Research Station in association with Brit European Airways, using 2 WS55 (Whirlwind) helicopters, are described.
