Discovery of importance of crankcase emissions as automotive air pollutants focused attention on crankcase ventilation systems; new systems must consider criteria and requirements of air pollution authorities as well as those of automotive engineers; criteria are reviewed and new system, developed by AC Spark Plug Div, Gen Motors Corp, is described; system provides dual path for blowby emissions to enter engine induction system; by this means, blowby emissions are completely consumed in engine.
