It is possible, to calculate maximum values for forces and decelerations to which person held in seat harness is exposed in head-on impact if certain simplifying assumptions are made; only harnesses for which stiffnesses are readily calculable are those consisting of single loops, such as single diagonal loop and lap strap; analysis of effect of harness on movement of occupant of car during head-on collision.
