Problem of optimum location of bridge on basis of traffic characteristics is considered; origins, end points and traffic flows are assumed to be known; concepts introduced correspond to relevant notions from field of theoretical mechanics; traffic accelerations for separate connections are taken into account; most proper point of crossing river is found by method of successive approximations from condition of minimum traffic work; general considerations are illustrated by numerical example.
